Seasons Greetings from the Barksdale Family (Phyllis, Arlen, Julie & Shane) ...
| We wish the best to all of our family and friends for this holiday season from the Texan Resort, Lake City, Colorado. Drop us a line by email and save a snail mail stamp (old fashioned cards are still nice though). This has been a very busy year where we have been fortunate to renew old acquaintances and make new ones. We have now completed 11 new log home additions as well as our own lodge home up the mountain, across the river. We have made significant strides in getting the new bridge (old Devil's Creek Bridge) across our portion of the Lake Fork and have begun excavation on our new lake. Phyllis is continuing developing her interest in vitality training and trauma counseling as well as directing Hytec Design Company in California. Julie is a new bride (Mrs. Jeffery Barella) and stays busy herself between school and polishing her property management talent in Grand Junction. Jeffery is a 30 year Halliburton veteran electronics engineer specializing in nuclear well logging equipment (uh huh!) "Alternative Energy" Arlen is presently the charter chairman of the Lake City/Hinsdale County Green Government Commission and continues to move forward on developing a PV solar farm utilizing his new approach to inexpensive solar energy sources and managing the Texan's new developments. Shane is performing his outstanding design talent for Hytec as well as furthering his artistic endeavors thru his degree program at Cal State Univ San Marcos. Of course Chinook is continuing to polish her neural connections to her reptilian brain stem as the bear, deer, marmots, rabbits, squirrels and other beasts attempt to inhabit her territory. We have had numerous bears again looking to the Texan for their pre-winter slumber meals and the wolves and coyotes their Starving Moon meals. We're very thankful for all of our blessings again this year and with Janus we look forward to an interesting and challenging 2008.
