The Texan Resort | Historic Mountain Legacy

Established in 1946, this Western log home community is one of the last unique cabin villages in the Rockies. Featuring original rustic cabins dating from the 1940s and as early as 1870, our rough-hewn retreats offer an enduring, primitive charm. At an elevation of 8,671 feet, Lake City is one of the last true 'undiscovered' mountain towns in the Colorado Rockies. Far from the crowds of the major ski resorts, our town is a gateway to the Alpine Loop National Scenic Byway, where 65 miles of rugged 4WD trails lead you through historic ghost towns and over 12,000-foot passes.
